Counseling Center

Center for New Directions

The CND at CEI is one of six programs in Idaho whose mission is to assist adults wishing to change or improve their education and/or employment. We specialize in career development services for single parents, displaced homemakers, those considering nontraditional training or employment and other special populations. Services to provide support and career opportunities for CEI students are available. Fees are based on income.

Plan for Success

A counselor will meet with you to determine what your needs are. If you wish to explore new careers or acquire new skills, a career development plan is formed. If you are a student and want to ensure success in your program or optimal placement in employment, the counselor will help you create a student success plan. In either case, a counselor will help you assess what your needs are often using a test such as The Career Assessment Inventory. You will also decide the steps you will take, including the support, services/classes you will need to reach your goal. Talk to a counselor today: Call (208) 535-5363 (Toll Free 1-800-662-0261 ext. 5363)

Non-Traditional Student Support Services

A gender-specific non-traditional student is one whose gender is under-represented in his/her career field (less than 25%) If you are a woman entering the auto trades or a man entering most health professions you may qualify for free, textbook, or ancillary material assistance.
