Evaluation is an integral part of the continuous improvement process. It is the methodology of the college to use multiple modalities in assessing the success of a faculty member. Evaluations occur during the spring semester and are performed by the appropriate instructional dean. These evaluations are linked closely to CEI's mission and core themes. Deans will utilize the following criteria in their considerations:
- General observations from department chair/division manager and the dean
- Student classroom evaluation
- Classroom observation
- Goal assessment
- Review of service to the college
- Peer observation
- Peer observation is required annually, but is not submitted to the dean for review and will not be used in the overall evaluation of a faculty member.
Step 1: It is recommended that the faculty seek out the individual with whom the grievance has occurred to discuss the issue and reach a mutually acceptable solution.
Step 2: In the event that the complainant cannot reach a suitable conclusion with the individual with whom he or she has a grievance, the complainant should make an appointment with the appropriate dean to discuss the issues. If the complaint is in reference to the dean then the complainant should make an appointment with the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs.
