Placement Testing

Information about placement testing for CEI students may be obtained by contacting the Admissions Office or your assigned advisor.

After your first test, log in at home or in the math center to use the tutorial, called the Prep and Learning Module, to improve your score. Dedicated students have skipped entire classes.

Fees

The cost of the ACCUPLACER exam is $10. The cost of the ALEKS exam is $25 for five attempts. Payment can be made at the Cashier's Office in Building 3 or by cash/check at the Testing Center.

Aleks Testing Information (Math)

ALEKS is the online math placement test used at CEI. It is important to be placed in the correct math class for the best chance of success.

One of the great features of the ALEKS placement test is the tutorials that are included.

After you take the first test, ALEKS pinpoints the areas to study so that you are prepared to take the math class you need for your degree.

About Aleks Test

  • Fee for the test is $25.
  • Five (5) attempts.
  • Must wait 48 hours between attempts.
  • Must either do three (3) hours of the modules between attempts one (1) and two (2) or eight (8) hours of the modules between any attempts afterward.
