CPR/AED/First Aid

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is offered through the American Heart Association and is geared towards anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory, or other requirements or for anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. If a certification is needed for your employment, please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course. This course does not meet the State requirements for daycare providers. ***If you are applying for CNA, EMT or any other healthcare classes offered through CEI, this is NOT the class for you. Please register for the BLS CPR class!***


BLS CPR for Healthcare Providers

This class satisfies the Health Care Provider CPR certification requirement for the CEI Health Professions Division and is for those working in a medical field. Class components includes adult & pediatric CPR, foreign-body airway obstruction, two-rescuer CPR, and new information on barrier devices, stroke, and automated external defibrillation. The certification is through the American Heart Association and is good for 2 years. Included in the cost is the required book and your own CPR mask combo kit!


Assistance with Medications

Individuals who successfully complete this course may assist a patient with medication administration in assisted living, group homes, and certified family homes. Students will be able to identify the legal requirements, safety factors, and understand the responsibilities of an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP). UAP’s may not assist with medications in hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Begin your health care career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. This course prepares you to enter the workforce as a health care professional and to take the state exams required to be placed on the Idaho Nurse Aide registry. The class includes in-class lectures, in-class skills practice and clinical experience at local health care facilities. Clinical experiences will be scheduled outside of the designated class schedule. Students are required to take the Online Orientation and will be informed of additional costs and course requirements.


Certified Phlebotomy Technician

Prepare for a career as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT). This 100+ hour phlebotomy course is designed to provide students with the knowledge & skills required to draw blood safely & effectively from patients for diagnostic purposes. The course includes both classroom instruction & hands-on training in a mock clinical setting. Course material will be delivered through class lecture, lab & online assignments. Up to 40 hours of clinicals will be required after the class end date. Upon completion of the course & clinicals, students will be eligible to sit for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification exam through the National Healthcare Association (NHA).
