Center for New Directions

A counselor will meet with you to determine your needs. Career exploration is available if you wish to explore new careers or acquire new skills. If you are a student and want to ensure success in your program or optimal placement in employment, the counselor will assist with effective study strategies, managing test anxiety, overcoming barriers and connecting to campus and community resources.

Study Strategies Workshops

The Center for New Directions offers a variety of workshops on various study strategies. Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Time management
  • Note-taking strategies
  • Reading college textbooks
  • Test success strategies and managing test anxiety
  • Many more, just ask or suggest!

Who We Help

Who We Help

Center for New Directions is a resources available for all students. CND can help ensure your success in school. In addition to all students, there are some demographics of students CND strives to connect to and provide resources when possible.

Non-Traditional Student Support Services

A gender-specific non-traditional student is one whose gender is under-represented in their career field (less than 25%). If you are a woman entering the auto trades or a man entering most health professions, you may qualify for additional resources through the Center for New Directions.

Single Parent and Displaced Homemaker Program

From career counseling to individual Academic case management, the SP/DH program is designed to help single parents achieve academic, career, and personal success. Assistance includes:

  • Life Management Coaching
  • Textbook assistance
  • Personal Counseling
  • Fee Waivers
