What is WTCE?

Workforce Training and Continuing Education (WTCE) purpose is to drive economic prosperity in our community. Through partnership and collaborative efforts, WTCE aims to support the Cybersecurity and Technology programming area by offering industry recognized certification and value added trainings. This creates an opportunity for credit for prior learning and/or to upskills/reskill learners.

Events

Cybercore Summer Camp

For High School Students Ages 14 - 18

Intro camp introduces students to:

• Computing basics, using Windows and Linux
• Programming with python
• Circuit design
• Binary, hex, encoding, and cryptography and more

Advanced camp introduces students to:

• Programming with python
• Circuit design, soldering, and embedded system construction
• Safe and secure online behavior, including email and web security skills
• Cybersecurity “red versus blue” attack and defend games and more

Thanks to our partners we are able to offer scholarships for students who need assistance with tuition.

For Teacher's Professional Development

Thanks to our partnership with the University of Idaho, teachers can earn
PD credits by:

• Participating in either one of the two weeks (2 credits) or
• Participating in both weeks (4 credits)

WTCE Advisory Board

The mission of Workforce Training and Continuing Education’s (WTCE) Cyber Advisory Board is to: Identify quality-training opportunities to mitigate the skills gap felt in the Computer, Technologies, and Cybersecurity fields. All opportunities identified and pursued will directly align with Workforce Training and Continuing Education’s purpose which states:

“We drive economic prosperity in our community. We accomplish this by teaching in-demand skills for work and life.”
Additionally, we align with the College of Eastern Idaho’s mission:

• We are student centered
• Provide open-access to quality training
• We meet the needs of our regional employers and communities
• We support community engagement related to Computer, Technologies, and Cybersecurity
