Credit vs. non-credit

Workforce training programs (non-credit) typically focus on equipping individuals with specific skills and practical knowledge relevant to immediate job requirements or industry needs. These programs are often shorter in duration and more targeted. They are designed to quickly enhance employability and job performance. Not all Workforce Training programs lead to academic degrees, but some provide essential certifications toward credit-based program requirements.

In contrast, credit-based programs are structured around earning academic credits that count towards a degree or certification. These programs are typically longer in duration, encompass broader academic or theoretical learning, and adhere to established curriculum standards. They are geared towards comprehensive education and can provide a foundation for further academic pursuits or career advancement. With CEI we can find the option that would work the best for you and your employees!

Scholarship vs. sponsorship

A scholarship typically involves financial support granted by an institution or organization based on academic merit, financial need, or specific criteria. It is aimed at alleviating the financial burden of education for individual students. Scholarships cannot be set aside for specific individuals but must be open to anyone at the institution if they meet the criteria.

A sponsorship involves a company directly funding or supporting an employee's education or training. This sponsorship is often tied to the employee's professional development and the company's strategic goals, aiming to enhance skills relevant to their role or industry. Unlike a scholarship, employer sponsorship often includes agreements or expectations related to the employee's commitment to the company post-education.

Benefits of a direct partnership with CEI

  • Secure your investment
  • Access to student records to ensure they are making progress (with proper documentation)
  • By using our invoice process and paying us directly any refunds owed will go to you. If your employee pays by check, any refunds owed will be returned to the student.
  • Your voice is valued at CEI. We love your feedback!
  • Your money goes much further at CEI, roughly 3X further than at a university.

Most classes are flexible and allow your employees to attend around their work schedule.
