Watercolor (6-weeks)

This watercolor course is for anyone interested in learning or deepening their understanding of the art of watercolor. ALL experience levels welcome! Returning students are encouraged to retake the class and continue their journey in the world of watercolor. This course has been updated to a 6-week course to help students learn new principles and then master those principles under the direction of our expert instructor. Each student will be able to work according to their own experience level and receive personalized feedback and direction for their own projects.

Gain foundational skills or strengthen techniques needed to create beautiful watercolor artworks. Learn about the essential materials, such as brushes, paints, and paper, and how to use them effectively. Explore basic color theory, and then advance to color mixing techniques, blending color patterns, and texture creation to achieve harmonious palettes. Refine your brushwork, improve your control over washes, and experiment with new approaches to achieve desired effects. Step-by-step demonstrations from our expert instructor and hands-on exercises will guide you in deepening your understanding of watercolor techniques; including washes, wet-on-wet, and wet-on-dry. By the end of the course, you will have completed several projects of your own design and gained greater confidence in your ability to express yourself through this vibrant and versatile medium. Join us to expand your artistic horizons!
