INL announces partnership with CEI

Idaho Falls, Idaho (KIFI) - Idaho National Lab directors met with College of Eastern Idaho officials Wednesday morning on the Idaho Falls campus.

Battelle Energy Alliance, which manages INL, announced they will donate $1 million to support the partnership and help plan a new Future Tech Building.

Students Learn Trade Skills, Build Sheds for Veterans During Two-day Construction Combine

Idaho Falls – Ten veterans and a nonprofit organization were each gifted a shed built by local students.

Each veteran was recognized with a standing ovation Thursday afternoon inside the old Deseret Industries building at 450 E Street as part of the fourth annual Construction Combine. The event was sponsored by the Eastern Idaho Homebuilders Association, College of Eastern Idaho, and Home Depot.

Local College Holds First Open House Since Pandemic Outbreak

Idaho Falls, Idaho - The College of Eastern Idaho (CEI) is preparing for its first open house on Tuesday, since COVID-19 reached Eastern Idaho. In previous years, school officials say more than 400 people came through to experience what the community college can offer.

"Reality Town" Comes to CEI

Idaho Falls, Idaho - The Idaho Falls Community Transition team is looking for volunteers to help out with their upcoming project.

"The Reality Town" is a simulation event, designed to teach students what life is like after high school. During the simulation, students will be given a new identity, including a family, occupation monthly gross pay, spouse’s income, automatic deductions, etc.

Construction Combine Brings Opportunity for Students, Employers in Driggs

The two-day event will not only put tools in the hands of students and young adults, exposing them to valuable skills in the trades but also provide local contractors with the opportunity to recruit help and give back to the community.
